I asked you to give me your best fan encounters and you didn’t disappoint. From Wicked on Broadway to first crushes to blacking out with Nate Bozung, here are the stories you gave.

Chas Guldemond:

My dad sat next to Chuck G at a Broadway showing of Wicked a few years ago. My dad was all hyped up. He told me that if I ever see him I gotta tell him my dad says what’s up. Anyway, I end up seeing him at Superpark in 2015, I think. I go up to him and tell him my dad says what’s up, you know, the guy from the Wicked showing. He was stoked and said my dad was sick.

My homie Lane tried to get Danny Kass to autograph his board at the US Open one year. He gave Danny the sharpie and he immediately signed right across his face instead. It’s on an episode of Danny and the Dingo. Kinda sick TBH.

 One time Bozung handed me a drink at a bar. I slammed it then woke up in detox.

Russell Winfield:

One time some friends and I decided to build a QP and Russell Winfield came and helped us build and session. He got a clip and was all hyped so he started throwing out $5 for tricks he thought would be sick. Everyone was broke and him doing that kept everyone fed and stoked. Mad love and respect to Uncle Russ.

 Chloe Kim/Robby Meehan:

I was 12 years old. I was rooming with Chloe Kim. It was the spring before she won the X Games at 13, the youngest female ever to win. Anyway, we were talking about boys, first kisses and singing along to Becky G. I thought my secrets were safe with her so I told he I had a FAT CRUSH on this boy at camp. Needless to say, the next day we are hanging out with said boy and his friends and he turns to me and says, “Izzy! I heard you had a FAT crush on me!” And I went completely red in the face and said, “Nooooooooooo ROBBY! I would NEVER have a crush on YOU.” He straight up said, “you’re lying. Chloe already told me.” Probably the biggest act of betrayal I have ever experienced. Chloe absolutely violated girl code.

 Anyway, now whenever I see the name Robby Meehan pop up on scree (which is quite a lot) I laugh and remember how much of a heartthrob I though he was when I was a preteen.

Jake Kuzyk:

Two seasons ago me and my homies are riding spots in Toronto. This kind lady walks up on us and starts asking questions about snowboarding. Then she says, “you guys might know my nephew! He’s been doing it big out west for a while now.” So we ask her what his name is and she responds with, “Jake.” We’re all like, “Kuzyk?” She’s like, “Yeah, that’s him!” We were all just tripped lol. Small world scenario for sure.

 Shaun White: 

Two Shaun White experiences for you, both at Mt. Hood. First one, we were jibbing a flat rail and Shaun Walks over the rocks into our zone, and I yelled up to him to come get in the session. He replies, “sorry bro, can’t. I’ve got pipe edges.” Cool guyed.

The second one he was a homie. 10/10 experience. We were sitting in the lot at the end of the day, and he comes walking by. That day I happened to have my dirt bike in the truck, and I stopped him and said, “Hey Shaun how about a signature?” And he said yes, and I pointed to my dirt bike. That got him all chubbed up and he signed it. It was sick.

Shaun White flipped me off when I was 12. It was when the Dew Tour was at Mt. Snow. I was at the top of Grommet, and he was about to ride down to his condo. I tried to fanboy and say, “oh my god you’re Shaun White!” But apparently, he thought I was talking shit and flipped me off while he rode by.
